Dowler is widely known in the New York fashion world, having worked in the industry as a designer, illustrator and director for many years.  She is a multi-talented creative, with capabilities that span fashion design, product design, illustration, and fine arts.  Pied Beauty, LLC was created out of the vision of bringing her talents and expertise to one place and offer services to diverse, more alternative markets.  Pied Beauty carries Ms. Dowler social stance and belief that what makes us different makes us beautiful.  Her company caters to a modern forward-thinking crowd, and gets attention because its specializations.

Clients look to Ms. Dowler to create the brazen liveliness they need in their rendering, product or design. Cheeky, joyful, unabashed and sometimes deliberately disobedient, her work celebrates self-expression and fun. With imagination and style, she brings the project to life on an unexpected level. Ms. Dowler lives for the reaction from her clients. If their face did not light up with a huge smile, then the work is not finished.

Ms. Dowler has designed and illustrated for fashion companies including Henri Bendel, Tommy Hilfiger, Liz Claiborne, Victoria’s Secret, PINK, Ralph Lauren, Tory Burch, Sigrid Olsen and LittleMissMatched.  Clientele within the interior design realm include the modern Italian design company, Nella Vetrina, Bond Street Sushi and Lounge, and White Street Restaurant.  Ms. Dowler has also illustrated several children’s books, including Madison in Manhattan and the sequel, Madison Visits the Doctor.  Other clients include private art collectors and individuals who regularly purchase or commission paintings from Ms. Dowler.  She works with large and small-scale watercolors, ink, and acrylic mediums.

Recognizing the large impact that the fashion industry has on the world, she currently works to promote an industry that can be inspired by a new precedence, where fashion contributes more to humanity and takes less from the earth. She is also an illustrator and artist, and has illustrated several published children’s books, including “Madison in Manhattan”.

ABOUT CHRISSIE DOWLER:

Ms. Dowler is originally from Vienna, Virginia, just outside the Washington D.C. area. She is an alumni of FIT, the Fashion Institute of Technology, where she got her BFA in Fashion Design. Today she resides in Brooklyn. She is in love with city life, inspired by people, the lively culture, art and the endless possibilities.

Ms. Dowler is an active member of the community, involved in local art groups, is a contributor to equal rights, supporter of LBGTQ community, and is a board member for local organizations.
